Reservoir Services

The Pearl River Valley Water Supply District (the District) was created by the Mississippi Legislature in 1958 as an agency of the State of Mississippi and a body politic and corporate. The mission statement of the District is to operate and maintain the Ross Barnett Reservoir and surrounding District lands to provide water to Jackson, aid in flood control, provide recreational opportunities, manage forest lands, improve our communities, and generate sufficient revenue to meet these goals without tax support from the member counties. Today, the District is home to more than 15,000 local residents in more than 60 neighborhood communities and maintains facilities than are used by more than 2.5 million visitors annually.
